Yoga and Pilates for Clonmellon, with Killua Castle between us
Clonmellon has nothing on a mat, but it has a castle at the end of the road. Our weekly classes are about ten minutes away, just outside Athboy, and our day retreats at Killua Castle are a couple of minutes from the village.
Where is the nearest yoga class to Clonmellon?
In Athboy, about ten minutes away by the Athboy road. Grá Wellness runs small yoga and mat Pilates classes at a studio just outside the town and at Athboy Community Centre. Killua Castle, where we hold day retreats, sits between the two.
Clonmellon already lives across a county line. The village is in Westmeath, the parish runs into Meath, and Athboy and Kells are both nearer than Mullingar. Ten minutes to a class is nothing.
We were already here this summer
Over the summer of 2026, Fiona taught outdoor classes in the Clonmellon area. Now that the evenings are closing in, the weekly classes are indoors, ten minutes away in Athboy.
Free outdoor sessions go up on our park yoga page as soon as they are set.

The castle at the end of your road
Killua Castle was built around 1780 for Sir Benjamin Chapman, whose family laid out Clonmellon itself. Lawrence of Arabia's father was a Chapman too. After years as a ruin, the castle was bought in 1999 and restored over about two decades.
It is a private home, open only for pre-booked tours. Our day retreats there are booked with us, not the castle. For Clonmellon, that makes it the most local retreat you could ask for: a morning or a day of yoga and rest, a couple of minutes from home.
The village argues about its Irish name. Road signs say Ráistín, the school says Cluain Mioláin, and the Westmeath Examiner has covered the debate. Fiona has Irish, so she can teach a class as Gaeilge whichever name you prefer.

We recently attended a free yoga event on the Fair Green in Athboy on a beautiful summer evening. Everyone was made so welcome; people of different age, mobility and experience were all genuinely accommodated. Fiona is the warmest teacher and now I have signed up for one of her classes to get back into yoga on a regular basis.
I recently attended a morning retreat (3 hours) with Fiona (Grá Wellness) in Killua Castle, The space Fiona created for us, was nourishment for mind, body and soul. As we all lead busy lives this was a perfect timeout Sunday morning. Fiona guided us perfectly throughout the morning including a board walk before brunch, beautiful morning finished off with chats and wholesome food most importantly lovely company
Grá Wellness is an idyllic retreat ideal for both indoor and outdoor yoga classes. The studio is a sanctuary that offers relaxation as soon as you walk through the door and Fiona's friendly greeting makes everyone, male and female, welcome. Fiona is amazing. The best yoga instructor I have ever had - her personality makes the classes. She is attentive, reassuring and her positive energy is contagious.
